FAQs

  • A 50-minute meeting with me via Zoom after students complete the assessment and have sent it to me to look over.
  • A detailed strengths and weaknesses list, comparison to grade level, and action plan outlining what order I recommend lessons to fill in gaps. This action plan can be taken to another teacher or tutor to help guide their instruction.
  • Email correspondence with me for a week to answer any follow-up questions you might have after receiving the action plan
  • The adult will need to purchase the correct Let’s Go Learn assessment for their student (usually $25).
  • The adult will need to be able to log in and attend a meeting via Zoom.
  • Assessment results must be sent at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.

After clicking on the sign up button, you will be taken to an enrollment/payment form. You will fill out the needed information, choose a time that works for you, schedule the assessment, and then pay. Feel free to reach out via email if you don’t see a time that works.

After filling out the information and submitting the form, you will receive an email from me with a link to the assessment your student needs to complete. (This is a SEPARATE purchase).

Your student will then complete the assessment and you will email it to me at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.

You and your student both will attend the meeting, where I will ask your student any questions I have regarding concepts covered in the assessment, their general attitude toward math, and other such questions to help me write a complete report. I can also answer any questions you may have for me regarding your student’s results.

After the meeting, I will provide you with a detailed report featuring your student’s strengths and weaknesses, an action plan with recommend sequence of lessons, and any teaching strategies I think might assist your student in learning. I strive to return this report to you within a week, but I am a SAHM with 2 kids, so sometimes life happens, but I will keep you updated with my progress.

Meet Your Teacher

Hey Friends!

My name is Carolyn Holman, and I’m the teacher behind Mrs. Holman’s Classroom. I am a certified math teacher with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and a Master’s in Teaching, and I have been teaching and/or tutoring (both online and in person) for the last 12+ years!

My specialty is inspiring students to learn to love (or at least like!) math and learning. I especially love teaching Algebra and making all those crazy abstract concepts concrete and understandable. My teaching is always student-centered and focused on WHY math works and exploring patterns, rather than just formulas to memorize with no real understanding of why they work.

I love seeing the lightbulb go off in students’ heads when they understand a concept, and I look forward to seeing that in your student too!
